Attractions in Las Vegas

Unlike many other tourist cities, Las Vegas is not known for its traditional sights and historic buildings. On the other hand, it is an entertainment city of dimensions, and it should be well done to get bored here.

The Strip

The Strip

The world-famous main street in Las Vegas just goes by the name “The Strip” and is a tourist attraction in itself. Here are spectacular luxury hotels and casinos in a row. One tries to surpass the other when it comes to embellishments and light shows. Among other things, you will find huge copies of Egyptian pyramids, the Eifel Tower and other famous buildings here.

Casino in Las Vegas

Casino in Las Vegas

You can not travel to Las Vegas without gambling. The entire city’s income is mainly about casino games and slot machines, and the many casinos turn over many millions every single day. Remember that you get free drinks at the casinos while you play, even if you only play for small money at a slot machine. The waitresses, however, expect tips, and a dollar is common. And remember the basic rule – the house always wins – so do not bet for more than you can afford to lose.

Las Vegas is also a very fashionable city, with very many shops and giant malls. Set aside a day for a long walk along The Strip where you stop by everything from shops with designer clothes to tourist shops and niche shops. If you have a rental car, you can drive an hour outside of Las Vegas, to the city of Primm. There is an outlet mall that is far cheaper than Vegas itself.

“Downtown” – Old Vegas

Old Vegas

For those of you who want to gamble cheaper, eat cheaper and experience a more down-to-earth Las Vegas, the old town is perfect. It’s 20 minutes by taxi from The Strip, and is where it all began. Lower stakes on the tables and nicer dealers, something many people appreciate. Freemont Street is the street where it happens here, and it is the second most popular street in Las Vegas.

Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon

The largest natural tourist attraction near Las Vegas is the Grand Canyon, an extensive gorge that has been created by the Colorado River for many years. Here you can either drive a rental car, which takes about four hours, or take a helicopter ride for the truly spectacular views.

Pariserhjulet “High Roller”

Pariserhjulet “High Roller”

In 2014, Las Vegas got something they were missing from before – a giant Ferris wheel. A round here will give you a fantastic view of the city, and we naturally recommend a walk in the evening when the city shows itself from its best and brightest side. A round trip takes about an hour, and of course it is alcohol serving.

Show in Las Vegas

Show i Las Vegas

A Las Vegas trip is not complete without going to a show. Several of the world’s greatest artists, sports icons and illusionists perform here. Boxing matches are performed in the casinos, and shows are performed by famous people such as David Copperfield and Chris Angell. Or what about Britney Spears or Justin Timberlake concert? There’s always something going on in Vegas!

The fountain show at Bellagio

The fountain show at Bellagio 2

Outside the luxury hotel Bellagio on The Strip is a huge water fountain that is definitely worth a visit. Several times a day there are shows here where huge jets of water dance sky high in time to music coming out of a number of speakers. This show is spectacular and highly recommended.

Stratosphere tower

Stratosphere tower

A trip to the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas is a must. The tower is 350 meters high and has a large lookout dome at the top. In addition to a panoramic view of Las Vegas, you can take carousels located at the top of the tower. Absolutely insane, simply.
