Wyoming is one of the three states of the USA (along with Colorado and Utah) whose borders run as a geoellipsoidal rectangle exactly in the direction of longitude and latitude. So there are no boundary lines defined by nature. The state borders Montana to the north, South Dakota and Nebraska to the east, Colorado to the south, Utah to the southwest, and Idaho to the west. Women’s Rights in Wyoming: On December 10, 1869, Governor John A. Campbell signed legislation giving women the right to vote. In addition, Wyoming was also the first US state for further “firsts”, i. e. innovations: In Laramie, women were first appointed as lay judges in 1870. Also in Laramie, the first female court constable was appointed that same year. The first female justice of the peace was Esther Hobart Morris in South Pass City, 1870. In 1924, Nellie Tayloe Ross was elected America’s first female governor. The state is nicknamed “The Equality State” because of the rights women were given early on. The United States admitted Wyoming to the Union on July 10, 1890 as the 44th state. Check act-test-centers for 4-year colleges and universities in Wyoming.
