ZTE Blade V7, Analysis: a Range Average Fairly Balanced

ZTE is one of those Chinese brands that have always been there for which fall into the temptation to buy one of their phones. Without making any noise, little by little they have been doing betting stronger away from the typical Chinese manufacturer and to the traditional approach, but without forgetting competitive prices. This is one of the first examples ZTE Blade V7.

Although they made a very strong commitment to the high end with ZTE Axon 7 to compete with more traditional manufacturers, Chinese manufacturer does not leave out the range average, giving them away from cheap looking design and good performance. Will it be this ZTE Blade V7 with these promises? In this analysis we try to clear any doubt.

Technical specifications

We will begin by make it clear that, as middle range, does not have the more advanced specifications and, although in some aspect fact may be an improvement, it is best not to be at all by this section to decide by this mobile. However, and so have an idea of what, you leave a pretty table.

The processor that comes on this Blade V7 is a MediaTek MT6753, an Octa-Core 1.3 GHz and 64-bit which, as we will see later, is perfectly capable of moving almost everything with ease. Perhaps the only downside of this type of processors is the subject of the support, but in terms of power is more than competent in every day.

We have to manage multitasking 2 GB RAM that, even if it is below the current upper middle range, it will show be sufficient for most users. In terms of internal memory we have 16 GB expandable by up to 256 GB microSD cards. Those 16 GB we have available around 11 GB for our use.

This smartphone screen is located in the standard for many users who don’t want anything too large with a size of 5.2 inches and FullHD resolution for many users in this aspect will be more than adequate. This display technology is IPS.

In terms of connectivity, we find the absence of NFC and fingerprint sensor, rather than being a range media, you can start to be required. In terms of things that does, we see the FM radio, LTE connectivity, Dual SIM If you don’t use a microSD card (the second slot is hybrid), Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with A-GPS support.

The ZTE Blade V7 is a smartphone range with a pretty standard specifications, although it leans less 1 GB extra RAM rarely. Surprisingly, its autofocus with detection phase and their FullHD screen for its price.

Cameras that can be found on this device are of 13 SC in 5 SC in the front and the back. The rear camera is a dual-tone LED and with phase detection autofocus and video up to 1. 080p. With phase detection autofocus is something that normally would be on mobile phones more expensive, but longer will talk more later of this.

Within this terminal comes one 2500 mAh battery that short viewing the screen resolution seem to. We’ll talk more later from this section, but I can say that it is not as bad as it seems, but you can not boast much in this aspect.

It is not a mobile phone that featured much in terms of hardware, perhaps striking with phase detection autofocus and the FullHD display, but also has elements that are somewhat lower than the more direct competition. In this section is fairly balanced, nothing remarkable for good or for evil.

Very attractive and comfortable design

Lately to ZTE is giving him for paying enough attention to the design of their terminals, and in this Blade V7 becomes apparent. To be a smartphone relatively cheap, his physical appearance seems to be more expensive, and it is that this time they opt for metal for your back.

It is a mobile, although it is not as compact as a LG G2 (same screen size), hard you will be too large. It is very pleasant to hold, but it is also rather slippery by the material used. However, note that it is a mobile, although delgado, You can grab it firmly without fear because of the feeling of robustness that gives.

Doing a review, on the front, dominated by the 5.2 inch screen with effect 2, 5 d, see typical in its upper part (camera, sensors, speaker for calls, LED notifications…). Under the screen see, when it is turned off, the round start button, although When you turn it on and press its capacitive buttons, the other two are. All is illuminated in blue.

The design of this Blade V7 is very elegant, with a very comfortable grip and metal body. Your power button too soft and slack volume buttons, called the amenities which subtracted something from that feeling of robustness that gives when you have it in your hand.

On the back we see the camera, which protrudes slightly, under dual-tone flash LED and the ZTE logo. At the bottom we will see the perfectly centered microUSB connector and two slots, one of which is the speaker (the one on the left) and the other would make microphone. At the top we see the headphone jack and microphone of cancellation.

On the right side we find the tray for the nano SIM (a slot can accommodate a microSD) and the power button almost focused, in a very comfortable position for the majority of the people and with a slightly different texture. This button protrudes quite and is a little soft, so more than once burn the screen accidentally.

On the left side will see only the volume buttons, which also stand out enough, this time a little more hard pressed (I would say that in the perfect fit). In the case of these buttons, to the touch Dance lightly in his position, which gives you a feeling of not being perfectly embedded.

The beauty of this terminal is very difficult to discuss, just see it in the box, it was that feeling of being attractive, and to take it and wear it these days in your Pocket I felt pretty comfortable with it. Reasonable dimensions and lightweight enough so that not being noticed too.

FullHD display with good visibility outdoors

As we have reviewed above, this is a display of 5.2 inches and FullHD resolution with a density of 424 ppp, which, if we take into account its price, is quite positive. The display of this Blade V7 technology is IPS and outdoors, with almost to the maximum brightness, It has good visibility to very good.

This screen viewing angles are very good even with the brightness to the minimum, there is no trace of a darkening of the remarkable image. In terms of sensitivity, it is quite acceptable for a range media, I have not noticed these days that I’ve had to strike with more force than necessary.

Whether indoors or outdoors, the screen has been at the height of the expectations with its good angles of vision and brightness high enough to view the content under the direct light of the Sun. In this aspect, almost any user will be disappointed.

A remarkable performance and sufficient autonomy to reach the end of the day

By way of reminder, is the processor that comes inside the MT6753 of MedaTek, 8 cores to 1, 3 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. In this sense it should not drag problems, and the result is the interface has no problems to move, as neither has them to go through the settings or surf the web.

MediaTek is improving a little bit in terms of performance referred to, and it seems that this processor is capable of doing enough as to move a FullHD screen without any problems at any time. MediaTek processors are characterized, above all, by providing one sufficient experience and spend less battery possible.

I admit that this processor gave me some mistrust, but these days I have tried it and I’ve been happy, maybe even in games like Asphalt 8 with full graphics is able to move well, but not with all the fluidity of a high-end processor. In short, the performance is good, it already is a mystery for many is how it will work after a year of use.

In the section on autonomy, their 2500 mAh, Although short on paper to a FullHD screen, it is capable of reaching the end of the day with about 3 hours and a half of screen where you’ve used it to typical whatsapp, social networks, browse and play from time to time (half an hour more or less).

No doubt Doze mode is doing much good to these terminals that incorporate a few batteries something short, and is something that is noticeable in day to day. For users who tend to give him enough work to the terminal, especially in games, possibly this terminal does not have sufficient autonomy to arrive at the end of the day on.

If you are a user who is going to give you a rather basic use to mobile (as said before social networks, chat, some of navigation…) come easily at the end of the day with, more or less, 30% of battery, but if you give him much cane with the games you have it really difficult and you should bet on another terminal with greater battery.

A good camera that falters quite at night

As a reminder, we have a camera on the back of 13 MP autofocus with detection phase and dual-tone LED flash, While before we have a 5 MP camera. The rear camera is capable of recording video with a maximum resolution of 1. 080p, what can we expect from a range media.

During the day both cameras behave quite well, especially the back that, in addition to making good pictures, makes them pretty fast. As you might expect, the autoefoque with phase detection works well, making the process of approaching very fast. The level of detail in the images is good, Although without too much fanfare.

Macro mode delivers images with a good level of detail, without reaching the level of high-end, but a standard user will be happy in this aspect. Day photos will have a good quality to immortalize those moments you do not expect to arrive.

Night photos are a little dark if light of lanterns do not give directly on the object. This may look good in the picture there are a couple of paragraphs below, where the soil is well lit, but houses, a little later, remaining in the shadows when the human eye would see them clearly. Flash, is certainly very powerful, so it can save you more than one situation.

The front camera, night, has the same problem, only has no flash. Instead, use the brightness of the screen, but it must be a lack of coordination because the photo is done after the display turns off. It is expected that the camera of a mobile flagging at night, but would have been nice it captures more light.

In terms of this Blade V7 camera interface, it is not the prettiest, but it’s not horrible. You have hand HDR modes, burst, flash and a settings button. If you want to choose a specific mode, you will have to go to settings, which should be a little more reach.

Software with many Chinese brushstrokes

This device comes from base with Android 6.0 with the March security fix. This operating system runs under the layer of customization of ZTE. In this case, as in the many Chinese, we find the absence of a drawer of applications, so we will have to make do us with additional initial screens.

The interface has a number of additives It may be interesting to some. For example, if you drag up on a screen you’ll have access to a section of personalization to change wallpaper, icons, transitions, etc. Retains enough Android pure, as the adjustments section or paragraph of recent apps.

You can customize the capacitive buttons, since they are on the sides of the central are a few points, so that you can swap the position of which would make the go back function and multitasking. There is also a way to cover that would change the design of the icons when you have one of your covers set.

In general to move through this interface is not a bad experience, There are no lags of any significant delays at the time of entering an application. The double-tap to turn on the screen it works pretty well, although it is possible that occasionally fail, to me, at least, once only I ignored.

As for bloatware, is not an excessive amount of apps from ZTE further than that of support, one of gestures and movements, a file manager or its own browser. As keyboard, in addition to the Google, Switkey pre-installed, something that, as a user of this app, thank you.

The 16 GB of storage you can use less than 11 GB, a figure that it approaches to standard, although if we seem insufficient we can pull of microSD card. Apart from the somewhat Asian customization, the experience with this customization is not bad.

ZTE Blade V7, Xataka Android view

A mobile sea range already average does not mean that it is a disaster in terms of user experience, and this is so for two or three years. In fact, for many users will give a slightly more demanding than the common people use, everything that seeks to offer a mid-range.

We are talking about a mobile phone that does not reach €300 and whose performance for many will be sufficient. The ZTE Blade V7, already focusing on this terminal, it is fairly balanced, with several points that can be above the average, such as the visibility of the screen, and others is something below, as the House of night.

Perhaps in any of your specifications is rather short, as in the theme of the RAM, but these days it has shown that it knows to manage it and that your customization layer just clogs in this aspect. How will it age this terminal? This is a mystery, because to know we would have to spend a year with him, using it day to day.

The terminal, by the way, goes on sale day July 10 to a preferred price of €229 on his official website, a price that more than one will look good for what it offers. Is thus in direct competition with many other phones of midrange other companies.

For most people this terminal will be more than sufficient, although each user must analyze by themselves unless East Blade V7 complies with the sufficient requirements as to be bought. In conclusion, a terminal attractive, functional and without many weaknesses, but better not do pictures at night or crushing it with games if you want the battery to last you until the end of the day. Here’s our final notes:

In favour

  • Very attractive design
  • Very fast focus on photographs
  • Android Marshmallow series
  • Good value for money

  • The clearance of the volume buttons
  • The House of night
  • Absence of NFC and fingerprint sensor
